Job Purpose:

The Head Nurse is designated as being the Administrative Manager/Quality Facilitator of a designated unit/clinic.

Duties and Responsibilities: (Management):

  • Ensures the highest standard of clinical care is maintained, utilizing a systematic approach to nursing.
  • Reviews and updates nursing policies, practices, procedures and recommends improvements.
  • Coordinates probationary period for new hire staff by allocating appropriately skilled and knowledgeable preceptors, evaluating new staff fortnightly and implementing Developmental Plans when necessary
  • Actively manages staff performance and completes objective staff Performance Appraisals both probationary and annual.
  • Actively implements Quality Assessment and Improvement Activities within the guidelines and standards of the Nursing Department.
  • Facilitates the integration of standards of patients care specific to the unit and ensures the dignity and rights of patients are respected.
  • Maintains and updates required unit/clinic documentation/records in accordance with Government/Hospital and Quality Department requirements.
  • Responsible for ordering new equipment and ensures effective utilization, maintenance, inventory and storage of equipment.
  • Initiates and maintains risk management assessment and performed improvement activities by unit
  • Develop and submits unit goals and establish unit/group norms based on input from the staff and identified needs.
  • Conducts regular monthly ward meetings which include quality improvement and educational activities.
  • Participates in short and long range planning for and development of the patient care unit.
  • Prepare monthly and semi-annual accountability reports and submits to the Supervisor.
  • Maintains updated staff personal information and licensure.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Graduate from accredited School of Nursing and Licensure/ Registration as registered Nurse.
  • Bachelor Degree / Diploma in Nursing and Board passer.
  • Training Programs and Seminars should be knowledgeable for Medical Programs.
  • Training Certificates and Seminars should be accredited by Hospital or Association.
  • BLS/ACLS, MOH and Saudi Council current, valid and up-dated.
  • Eight (8) years working experience in a hospital environment.
  • Excellent English and good in Arabic.
  • Neat, organized and systematic.
  • An ability to work individually and as part of a team.

Job Purpose:

Direct supervision and coordination of activities in the allocated unit/ward.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct and Supervises administrative and clinical activities of the ward / unit.
  • Responsible for daily and vacation scheduling of ward / unit staff in absence of head nurse.
  • Ensures the implementation and evaluation of patient care standards.
  • Coordinates patient placement for optimal utilization of beds and equipment based on patient care needs.
  • Ensures patient / nurse allocation is carried out based on nursing competency and patient care needs.
  • Coordinates with Education Department orientation, mentorship and cross training program for ward staff.
  • Ensures staff competency checklists are maintained and updated as required.
  • Directly communication with designated medical staff regarding ongoing patient management.
  • Ensures patient clinical management is carried out as per doctor’s order and based on patient care needs.
  • Ensures preventive maintenance program adhered to for all equipment and reports and records deficiencies in equipment function to appropriate department.
  • Supervises and evaluates staff performance as required by nursing administration.
  • Communicates with and supports patient and relatives as per individual needs.
  • Any other assigned responsibilities on a need basis as identified by the Nursing Director.
  • Participate in direct patient care working as a team member and promote the highest standards of evidence based practice.
  • Directly support staff as appropriate in the provision of care of the patient, providing supervision as necessary.
  • Assist with identifying and reporting accidents and incidents and take necessary action.
  • Assign and coordinate patient care and related duties.
  • Collaborates with Head Nurse to obtain necessary human and material resources.
  • Recognize others needs for assistance and intervene as necessary.
  • Make decisions and convey appropriately to team members.
  • Appropriately manages variances behaviorally environment occurrences or refers to the appropriate person.

Qualifications/Skills

  • BSN / Diploma in Nursing & Midwifery.
  • Current license in country of origin, with MOH license to practice in Saudi Arabia.
  • 5 years clinical nursing experience in relevant clinical area. With at least 2 years in the relevant area at senior level.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Spoken Arabic is advantageous but not essential.

Job Purpose:

Carries out Internal Medicine Health Care in AAH provides full range, privileged, Diagnostic preventive and curative duties of the specialty. Shares workload with other physicians of the unit.

Duties:

  • Provides diagnosis and treatment to AAH patients, on outpatients and as privileged, Inpatient basis including CCU and ICU for cross referrals.
  • Covers the emergency service in rotation with other physicians, responds promptly to calls for consultation when on-call.
  • Caries out formal and informal consultation requests from the unit physicians and other services.
  • Consults with other physicians on complicated and high-risk cases.
  • Accepts participation in committee and other assignments requested by Unit Head, Chief of Service or Medical Director.
  • Co-operates with CQI activities.
  • Complies with AAH policies and special attention to Medical Record Documentation O.M. policy.
  • Participates in rounds, in-service training, units meeting and CME activities.
  • Maintains professionalism, medical ethics, sense of responsibility and cost effective practice.
  • Abides by AAH-By-laws, MOH regulations and accountable to Head of Internal Medicine unit.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Graduates of Approved Medical School.
  • 5 years postgraduate experience, including 3 years full time Residency training leading to possession of qualified certification in the Internal Medicine specialty from recognized center.
  • Eligibility to obtain M.O.H. license as consultant/Specialist in Internal Medicine Field.
  • Subspecialty and special skill of Internal Medicine related procedures are desirable.

Job Purpose:

To focus on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of many different heart and blood vessel conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart arrhythmia, high blood pressure, peripheral arterial disease and heart failure. To use standard tests such as echo cardiography, electrocardiograms and holter monitors to make diagnoses, and they may use treatments such as anti-ischemic and pacemaker installation, conferring with cardiac surgeons intervention cardiologist when major anti-failure indication surgeries are deemed necessary.

Duties:

  • Diagnoses and treats disease of heart and its functions: Examines patient for symptoms indicative of heart disorders, using medical instruments and equipment.
  • Studies diagnostic images and electrocardiograph recordings to aid in making diagnoses.
  • Prescribes medications, and recommends dietary and activity program, as indicated.
  • Refers patient to SURGEON specializing in cardiac cases when need for corrective surgery is indicated. Provides directions and coordinates the activities of the Cardiology Department to maintain proper professional and administrative level of Patient care.
  • Participates in the planning and implementation of the hospital policies.
  • Makes decisions without reference to the Medical Director, except where administrative authority is required or when other Medical Services functions or organization of the company are involved.
  • Consults with or advises other Specialist and Consultants on major, complicated cases and with patients or guardians concerning necessary procedures.

 

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a recognized medical school by the M.O.H and have a higher postgraduate degree as a qualified specialist (MCh.,FRCS, etc) or its international equivalent.
  • Current valid license to practice his specialty in his country or origin.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the practice of his specialty.
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English with fluency in spoken and/ or written Arabic preferred.
  • Must be in good physical and mental health and of high moral character, with work ethic and personal attributes suited to performance and leadership in high-stress high-volume work environment.
